Manchester, NJ –– It’s been 8 years since Administrator John Amory first arrived at the Center that has significantly impacted the healthcare of Ocean County’s seniors. During that time, Arbors Care Center, on the Manchester/Toms River border, has distinguished itself not only by changing the lives of those in need of daily help, but by serving as one of the area’s finest post-hospital rehabilitation and sub-acute care facilities.
Arbors’ stellar reputation and high ranking by government agencies serve as testament to what the most stable staff of long-term, supremely talented professionals can achieve in the delivery of expert care and specialized services. Some examples of these dedicated professionals include:
Dawn Sanford, RN and Director of Nursing for over a decade, has been a real leader at Arbors. Dawn is the driving force behind the excellent care provided to both our long term and short term sub-acute residents. “Dawn inspires the medical staff at Arbors by sharing her passion for nursing and concern for those that we take care of.”
Assistant Director of Nursing, Mary O’Rourke, LPN, is a dedicated staff member who has worn many hats over 18 plus years at Arbors. In that time Mary has helped to set a very high professional standard for the caregivers while forging strong ties with the residents.
Kristyn Rommel, OT and Therapy Director, guides the most talented team of therapists in the area in their goal of helping local seniors reach their highest possible level of independence.
As residents and families face the difficult challenges of aging, it helps to have an advocate like Arbors’ Social Services Director, Christine Narozniak. Christine has dedicated her professional life to serving seniors and their loved ones in what could be a difficult time.
Arbors also has the finest Activities professionals led by Christina Stevenson. Under Christina’s direction the residents are provided with a complex variety of social and creative opportunities all designed to keep them engaged in daily physical and therapeutic activities geared towards stimulating mental alertness, regaining physical skills and building confidence.
As measured by residents, family members and yearly state surveys, Arbors Care Center provides the highest quality of care. John Amory noted that after their short-term stays and positive experiences, many patients choose to remain at The Arbors and become part of the permanent resident community. He said, “We have many residents who were here for a short stay and come to realize how the quality of their lives has improved as a result of their time at Arbors. With a wide array of services, and a daily commitment from our staff, residents can take advantage of extraordinary opportunities they would not get at home.”
All tolled, over 150 highly skilled professional caregivers have been assembled to treat the physical and emotional needs of its’ 110 plus residents. Mr. Amory said, “It is my privilege to work alongside such a devoted and superior team of caregiving professionals. Arbors has been serving the community for over 18 years and has staff with a combined 150+ years of experience. And we have every intention of continuing to be a benefit to those that come here.”
